The History of Mykad

[ Identification Card / Smart Card ]

Mykad has evolved into a smart card in Malaysia. Each card embedded with its own chip, it nows has more then 8 function then just a normal identification card. Following are among the characteristics of our Mykad mentioned in a video produced by JPN. More listed in the video. Stay tune.

1. Mykad - identity card using biometrics and a digital verification using public key infrastructure (PKI)

2. Guaranties a secure trade especially online transaction (digital security act 1997)

3. consist as a chips that acts as a computer embedded in a plastic card.

4. A 64 kb micro processor equipped with a 3kb memory has the ability to conduct 500,000 right  cycles.
